INVADER ACE (Sthlm, Mindblast records)
Invader Ace plays dance music through awesome radios with a tuba, a guitar and drum machine.
Yes you read that right.
They are Peder Simonsen (Nor) on tuba, electronics and drum machines and Anton Toorell (Swe) on vocals, guitar, electronics and no-input mixing board.
They transmit their wonder sounds via FM senders to a wall of old tube radios, used as amplification.
And it doesn’t just look fantastic; it sounds badass
Influences/comparsions include; Mr Oizo, Micahu and the Shapes, deerhoof, Prince Rama and Nisennenmondai
Welcome to a new world of tubatechnoradiopop
Their brand new double EP vinyl, named ”DANCE” and ”LOVE”, will be released on Mindblast records on the 29th of august 2012
”an incredible mix of diy electronics and mind-melting progressive beat music, invader ace come across like a homespun concoction made of mr oizo’s straight to the feet dance music infused with the rockist loop glam stomp of nisennenmondai. highly recommended” Nice”
